29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  Location - 659 Andover Street Lawrence, MA 01840.  On or about 2/14/2023, employees were not protected from laceration and amputation hazards on Turbula Mixers and Tablet Presses, due to lack of interlocking mechanisms.  This includes, but is not limited to the following instances;  Instance 1 -  On or about 2/14/2023, on the large WAB Turbula mixer outside Dry Room 1, employees were able to lift the clear guard on the machine while it was running, and the machine would not stop until the guard was lifted to ~4.5 inches, allowing employees to place their hands into the machine.  Instance 2 -   On or about 2/14/2023, on the small WAB Turbula mixer inside Dry Room 8 employees were able to lift the clear guard on the machine while it was running, and the machine would not stop until the guard was lifted to ~3 inches, allowing employees to place their hands into the machine.  Instance 3 -  On or about 2/14/2023, the Stokes Single Stroke Tablet Press 3 inside Dry Room 8 was not adequately guarded as the machine would be able to operate with the door to the machine open and the safety switches pressed.  Instance 4 -  On or about 2/14/2023, the Stokes Single Stroke Tablet Press 4 inside Dry Room 8 was not adequately guarded as the machine would be able to operate with the door to the machine open and the safety switches pressed.
