29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1):The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: Employees engaged in laundry activities at the Accurate Technologies Iron and Folding machine, serial number 005429, were exposed to electrical, amputation, caught-in, and struck-by hazards in that the employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections.

29 CFR 1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: Employees engaged in laundry activities in the laundry room were exposed to health hazards in that the employer had not installed am eye wash station within the work area for immediate emergency use. Chemicals requiring the presence of an eye wash station in the laundry room include but are not limited to Stain Blaster Destainer which contains Sodium Hypochlorite which is a corrosive and cause skin burns.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1):The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met. In the laundry room at The Oread Hotel, employees performing laundry activities were exposed to health hazards. The employer failed to develop a written hazard communication program to describe how the program would be implemented to include proper training, labeling, and the administration of safety data sheets, to address their chemicals such as the hazards of Sodium Hypochlorite which is a corrosive and can cause skin burns and eye damage.
