29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a.) Joy Cone Co. DBA Joy Baking Group: Wafer Line-on or about 2/21/23, and times prior thereto, when making adjustments personal are exposed to amputation hazards and crush injuries created by the moving conveyor line in that guarding was not utilized to prevent fingers from getting caught in the moving track or other fixed objects.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

DBA Joy Baking Group- on or about 2/21/23, and times prior thereto, The recordable injury and/or illness entries on the OSHA 300 Log for the Calendar Year 2023 were not completed as required. In Column F the Recordable case 1 not descriptive, in that the body part affected, and/or the agent, object, and/or substance that directly injured or made the person ill was not noted/documented.  NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENATION REQUIRED

29 CFR  1910.147(e)(3)(iii):The employer shall ensure that the authorized employee has knowledge that his/her lockout or tagout device has been removed prior to resuming work at that facility:  a.) Joy Cone Co. DBA Joy Baking Group: on or about 4/2/23 and times prior there to- In the written Control of Hazardous Energy Policy, the procedure for the removal of locks left on equipment by someone other than the authorized employee who applied it, did not include detailed workplace specific procedures to ensure that the authorized employee has knowledge before he/she resumes work at that facility that their lockout/tagout device was removed.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
