29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1):"Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a) Martin Morales Angeles located at 153 Sunbury Road, Westerville, OH 43081: On and preceding April 6, 2023, the employer did not ensure that roofers working at heights exceeding 6 feet utilized fall protection. Roofers installing materials at the top of a sloped commercial roof were working at heights exceeding 18 feet at the ridge without any form of fall protection thereby exposing employees to falls of 18 feet.

The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.   a) Martin Morales Angeles located at 153 Sunbury Road, Westerville, OH 43081: On and preceding April 6, 2023, the employer did not ensure that roofers exposed to falls working at heights exceeding 6 feet were trained.
