29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a.)  Silgan Plastics, LLC - On or about 4/10/23, and at times prior thereto, the cam track on the SIG 2 Blow Wheel was not guarded to prevent employees from  being able to access the track and canisters.  An employee sustained a left thumb tip amputation when he placed his hand in that area while being trained on the machinery adjustments.   ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
