Establishment - The employee tasked with painting and sand blasting using a Bullard supplied air respirators and voluntarily wore half masks air purifying respirators, was not provided a medical evaluation before being allowed to use the respirator in the workplace. Three other employees in the welding area were observed voluntarily wearing half mask air purifying respirators without a medical evaluation. DSM Metals was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1417442 citation number 1 item number 1c and was affirmed as a final order on October 10, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 129 Precourt St., Biddeford, Maine 04005.
