There is no minimum width requirement for boatswains' chairs. (a) New residential construction located at 3339 Stillwood Dr, Atlanta, Ga: On or about 04/24/2023 , and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to falls over 20-feet to the lower level. Employee's under the supervision of Employer stacked material on walking working surface to decrease the width of the walking working surface from 12 inches to 8 inches.

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1):Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part. (a) New residential construction located at 3339 Stillwood Dr, Atlanta, Ga: On or about 04/24/2023 , and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to falls over 20-feet to the lower level. Employees under the supervision of Employer were conducting siding activities without being attached to the vertical lifeline provided by employer.

29 CFR 1926.452(j)(1):Pump jack brackets, braces, and accessories shall be fabricated from metal plates and angles. Each pump jack bracket shall have two positive gripping mechanisms to prevent any failure or slippage. (a) New residential construction located at 3339 Stillwood Dr., Atlanta, Ga: On or about 04/24/2023 , and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to falls over 20-feet to the lower level while conducting siding activities. The vertical legs of the Pump Jack Scaffold was being supported on a base made out of 2x4 blocks on an uneven surface. The stabilizers utilized for the Pump Jack Scaffold were made out of strips of tie down straps in the middle and metal wire at the top.
