29 CFR 1926.501(b)(4)(i): Each employee on walking/working surfaces was not protected from falling through holes (including skylights) more than 6 feet (1.8 m) above lower levels, by personal fall arrest systems, covers, or guardrail systems erected around such holes. On May 12, 2023, at least one employee working on the main floor of a new construction residential home was not protected from falling through the basement stair opening of approximately 3' 10" Wide by 10' Long to the lower level that was approximately 8' below by personal fall arrest systems, covers or guardrail systems erected around the hole.
