29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section. a. Located along the west side of 4540 Gender Road, Canal Winchester, Ohio: On or about May 25, 2023, the employer did ensure that an adequate sloping system was in place prior to an employee accessing the trench to perform a watermain tap connection, thereby exposing the employee to a cave in hazard.
