29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about May 29, 2023, maintenance personnel who utilized the JET Drill Press (Serial Number 16120417) were exposed to hazards created by the point of operation. b) On or about May 30, 2023, employees were not protected from ingoing nip point hazards created by the head manifolds on Line 3's Uniloy Blow Molder when adjusting bottle weights. Employees are directly above the zone of danger while manually adjusting weights with a wrench. In the alternative 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(6)(i): employees less than 4ft above dangerous equipment were not protected from falling into or onto dangerous equipment by guardrail system or travel restrain system, unless the equipment is covered or guarded to eliminate the hazard. c) On or about May 30, 2023, employees were not protected from ingoing nip point hazards created by the head manifolds on Line 4's Uniloy Blow Molder when adjusting bottle weights. Employees are directly above the zone of danger while manually adjusting weights with a wrench. In the alternative 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(6)(i): employees less than 4ft above dangerous equipment were not protected from falling into or onto dangerous equipment by guardrail system or travel restrain system, unless the equipment is covered or guarded to eliminate the hazard.
