29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function (Maritime Reference 1915.154):   On or about June 13, 2023, and at time prior thereto, in the marine shipyard, employees for shipbreaking activities were required by the employer to wear tight-fitting respirators to protect them from exposures to hazardous chemicals and materials. The employer allowed employees to wear a respirator with facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the face piece.  Carlos Arturo Guerrero, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1580441, citation number 1, item number 4/b and was affirmed as a final order on September 13, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 8490 South First Avenue, Sabine Pass, TX 77655.
