29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt shall be worn and a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. Employees were exposed to fall hazards. At the job site located at 4415 95th St., Overland Park, Ks, employee(s) engaged in construction cleaning activities using an articulating aerial lift were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 24 feet from the platform edge to the ground below. Employee(s) were not provided with harnesses, body belts or lanyards to be used when working at height from an articulated aerial lift.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Employees were exposed to fall hazards. At the job site located at 4415 95th St. Overland Park, Kansas, employee engaged in construction cleaning activities was exposed to fall hazards of approximately 24 feet from the edge of the aerial lift platform to the concrete below. The employer has not provided training on methods of fall protection to minimize the hazards associated with falling from heights.
