29 CFR 1910.134(k)(1): The employer shall ensure that each employee can demonstrate knowledge of at least the following:   On or about June 26, 2023, employees were allowed to wear half mask respirators and the employer did not provide effective training.  Training must be comprehensive, understandable, recur annually and address the following elements as required in paragraph (k)(1):  a)  Why the respirator is necessary and how an improper fit, usage or maintenance can compromise the protective effect of the respirator; b)  What the limitations and capabilities of the respirator are; c)  How to use the respirator effectively in emergency situations; d)  How to inspect, put on and remove, use and check seals of the respirator; e)  What the procedures are for maintenance and storage of the respirator; f)  How to recognize medical signs and symptoms that may limit or prevent effective use of the respirators; g)  The general requirements of this section.
