The employer shall assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). If such hazards are present, or likely to be present, the employer shall:  29 CFR  1910.132(d)(1)(i): Select, and have each affected employee use, the types of PPE that will protect the affected employee from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment;  a.) On or about June 30, 2023, the employer did not ensure employees used PPE such gloves and safety glasses while handling hazardous corrosive chemicals such as, but not limited to Taylor Technologies DPD Reagent #2, Acid Demand Reagent, Sulfuric Acid .12N, and Calcium Buffer.

29 CFR  1910.1200(g)(1): Chemical manufacturers and importers shall obtain or develop a safety data sheet for each hazardous chemical they produce or import. Employers shall have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use.   a.) On or about June 30, 2023, the employer did not ensure that safety data sheets for Taylor Technologies, Inc reagents were available at the retail store located at 1900 East Whipp Road, Dayton, OH 45440 for employees using various corrosive reagents such as, but not limited to DPD Reagent #2, Acid Demand Reagent, Sulfuric Acid .12N, and Calcium Buffer.
