On or about July 6, 2023, at the above addressed jobsite, the employer failed to ensure that employees using a handheld angle grinder to cut mortar implemented proper engineering controls and work practices as specified for the task in Table 1 of 29 CFR 1926.1153. Affected employee(s) were thereby exposed to the hazards associated with inhalation of crystalline silica dust.

On or about July 6, 2023, at the above addressed jobsite, the employer failed to ensure when an employee using a handheld PA6-GF30 Makita Angle Grinder and not fully implementing proper engineering controls and work practices, as specified for the task in Table 1 of 29 CFR 1926.1153, the employee was not exposed to an airborne concentration of respirable crystalline silica in excess of 50 g/m3, calculated as an 8-hour TWA. The affected employee(s) were thereby exposed to the hazards associated with inhalation of crystalline silica dust.
