29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1):  Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.   (a) On or about 7/25/2023, 1 American Yacht Harbor Charlotte Amalie,  VI  00802 - Roof:  employees were working on the roof with an unprotected side or edge approximately 15 feet (4.6 Meters) in height, exposing employees to a fall hazard.  NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item, as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR  1926.1051(a):  Stairway(s) or ladder(s) were not provided at all personnel points of access where there was a break in elevation of 19 inches (48 cm) or more, or no ramp, runway, sloped embankment, or personnel hoist was provided:  (a) On or about 7/25/2023, 1 American Yacht Harbor Charlotte Amalie,  VI  00802 - Employees climbed multiple levels to reach the roof level. A ladder was not provided to safely access the roof.  Employees were exposed to a fall hazard.  NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item, as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
