29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  On or about August 9, 2023, employees installing an asphalt shingles roof on a commercial building were exposed to a fall hazard of 34 feet; the employer did not ensure each employee on the 13/12 pitch roof (steep) with unprotected sides and edges was protected from falling 34 feet to the lower level, by a guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.
