29 CFR  1926.25(a):  Housekeeping.  During the course of construction, alteration, or repairs, form and scrap lumber with protruding nails, and all other debris, shall be kept cleared from work areas, passageways, and stairs, in and around buildings or other structures.  On or about August 29, 2023, at 152352 Starling Lane in Wausau, Wisconsin, employees were exposed to trip hazards during removal of duct equipment, door jambs, and ceiling tiles in the second-floor hallway and office work areas that were not kept clean of construction debris with wood chunks, broken tiles, and duct equipment on the walking surface.

29 CFR  1926.416(b)(2):  Electrical.  General Requirements.  Passageways and open spaces.  Working spaces, walkways, and similar locations shall be kept clear of cords so as not to create a hazard to employees.  On or about August 29, 2023, at 152352 Starling Lane in Wausau, Wisconsin, employees were exposed to trip hazards while accessing/egressing the second-floor office work areas using a hallway that was not kept clear of cords with electrical cables and light fixture wires laying on the walking surface and suspended from the ceiling.
