29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Except as provided elsewhere in this section 29 CFR 1910.28, the employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): (a) At Roofing Department: On or about 11/16/2023 and times prior, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards, in that the employer failed to provide fall protection when employees were working at approximately 10 feet or more above the ground while transitioning from a platform to the roof of a mobile home. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. (b) At the Button up Department: On or about 11/16/2023 and at time prior, the employer exposed employees to trip and fall hazards, in that a handrail on at least one side of a four (4) riser stair system was not installed while employees gained access to the dockside of the plant.
