29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): The employer did not ensure that Exit route(s) were kept free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route a) Location: Exit door to the left of the battery charging station at Sutton warehousing Inc 115 Kennedy drive, Sayreville NJ 08872. On or about 12/27/2023, two forklift trucks were parked in front of an emergency exit door at the back of the warehouse, blocking emergency egress from the back of the warehouse by employee(s) in the event of an emergency such as fire.

29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Location: Battery charging stations in the back of the warehouse . A wall-mounted emergency eyewash station was provided in the warehouse where electric forklifts are charged and maintained and employee(s) are exposed to corrosive battery acid during replenishment of water and/or electrolyte to battery cells; however the single 946 mL squeeze bottle eyewash had an expiration date of September 2019. Condition(s) were noted on or about 12/27/2023. **Note: A emergency eyewash should have sufficient volume capacity for delivering at least 0.4 gallons (1.5L) of clean water per minute continuously for at least 15 minutes, as recommended in American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Standard Z358.1.
