29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(13): The top or top step of a stepladder was used as a step.   On or about January 03, 2024,  employees of a subcontractor engaged in roofing work used the top step of a portable A-framed ladder to access an upper landing surface. The subcontractors employees were exposed to a fall hazard of more than six(6) feet to the concrete ground.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access.  On or about January 03, 2024,  employees of a subcontractor engaged in roofing work used a portable ladder to access an upper landing surface and the side rails did not extend at least 3 feet above the landing surface. The subcontractors employees were exposed to a fall hazard of more than six(6) feet to the concrete ground.  JR & CO. Inc.  was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard  29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1417864, citation number 01, item number 02 and was affirmed as a final order on 03/06/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 4121 NE Davidson Rd. Kansas City, MO 64108.
