29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  At a facility located at 948 Nussbaum Street, Clinton MO, 64735, employees were exposed to caught in and amputation hazards.  The employer exposed the employees to these hazards by allowing them to operate a SHARP-2280B lathe to sand products by holding a piece of sanding material in both hands while positioning it behind the rotating product that was being sanded.

29 CFR  1910.1200(h)(3)(ii):Employee training did not include the physical and health hazards of the chemicals in the work area:  At a facility located at 948 Nussbaum Street, Clinton MO, 64735, employees were exposed to health hazards associated with the use of chemicals and lacked proper training on these hazards.  The employer exposed the employees to these hazards by allowing them to use a chemical identified as Sharpcool Water Soluble while operating machines in the South Bay of the facility.  The hazard statement listed on the Safety Data Sheet for the chemical explained that it may cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposures.

29 CFR  1910.178(a)(6):The employer did not ensure that all nameplates or markings were maintained in a legible condition:  At a facility located at 948 Nussbaum Street, Clinton MO, 64735, employees were exposed to struck by hazards.  The employer exposed the employees to this hazard by allowing them to operate powered industrial trucks that did not have legible markings for their operating controls.  Instances of exposure include but are not limited to:  Instance 1:  Operators of the Case 586E powered industrial truck were exposed to struck by hazards in that the powered industrial truck did not have legible markings indicating what function each control performed.    Instance 2:  Operators of the Yale Type LP Industrial Truck were exposed to struck by hazards in that the powered industrial truck did not have legible markings indicating what function each control performed.
