29 CFR  1910.132(d)(1):The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment:  On or about January 16, 2024, the employer did not conduct an accurate PPE Hazard assessment on the POWERMATIC 54A JOINTER and exposed employee(s) to caught-in hazards. The assessment performed by the employer required employees to wear gloves when handling wood. However, the manufacturing does not recommend the use of gloves.  As a result of the glove while in use was pulled into the guarded POWERMATIC 54A JOINTER resulting in an employee sustaining a finger amputation.
