29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(ii)(B): Specific procedural steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing machines or equipment to control hazardous energy had not been put into place. a) Jobsite - On or about February 5, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the bag winders and other equipment had developed and implemented specific procedures to control hazardous energy, exposing employees to amputation hazards. Plastic Films, LLC, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA Inspection #1622524, Citation 1, Item 1, issued on January 18, 2023, concerning a workplace located at 1301 Highway 51 North in Summit, MS which became a final order on February 13, 2023.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Jobsite - On or about February 5, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the garbage bag winder in front of line 3 had its rotating horizontal shafts guarded, exposing employees to amputation hazards.
