An abatement demand letter was sent to the employer on January 28, 2025.  Abatement documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR  1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:   a) Bosnian Islamic Association, 306 Court Street, Utica, NY  13502 - On the tower roof, on or about 4/1/24:  Employees were installing a roofing system onto the intermediate portion of a tower roof with a low pitch and a ground to eave height of approximately 60 feet, without having been trained on the use of fall protection equipment or with the hazards associated with fall hazards when working at heights.  Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(10):Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system.
