29 CFR  1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).     a.) On or about April 11, 2024 - JIT Industries, 2201 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL, the employer had not conducted a hazard assessment related to work activity in the repair and assembly area indicating what PPE is required.   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR  1910.178(l)(2)(ii):The employer did not ensure that each operator had successfully completed the training consisting of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace.  a.) At 2201 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL; On or about April 11, 2024, the employer failed to train and evaluate each operator prior to allowing employees to operate the forklifts throughout the facility.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
