OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish the employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to potential fire, deflagration and explosion hazards associated with combustible wood dust.  a) Production floor: Employees were exposed to fire, deflagration and explosion hazards due to the Nederman dust collection system, model NFP-S1000 which was collecting combustible dust from four different woodworking machines, located within less than 20ft from the Danthernm Filtration dust collection system, model NFP-S1000-Three Phase, collecting combustible dust from three different wood working machines, on or about 5/22/2024.    b) Production floor: Employees were exposed to fire, deflagration and explosion hazards due to the dust collection bags not being cleaned out daily from all four dust collection systems, on or about 5/22/2024.    NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

The employer required a finishers to wear 3M 7500 half face elastomeric respirator, throughout the shift while painting materials.   NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
