29 CFR  1910.140(d)(2)(ii): The employer did not ensure that personal fall arrest systems are rigged in such a manner that the employee cannot free fall more than 6 feet or contact a lower level:  a) 760 Vassar Ave, Lakewood, NJ - Manufacturing Floor - The employer allowed employees to use a Klein 6 foot shock absorbing lanyard as part of a complete personal fall  arrest system (PFAS) for employees working from approximately 16 feet above the lower level performing welding operations. The employer did not ensure that personal fall arrest systems were rigged in such a manner that the employee could not free fall more than 6 feet or contact a lower level, thus exposing the employee to a fall hazard. This condition was observed on or about June 17, 2024.  NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
