OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck by wood building components in the event of structural collapse: a) On or about August 9, 2024, at the jobsite located at 2850 E. Steger Rd., Sauk Village, IL 60411, employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck-by building components when walking and working beneath the previously set trusses and while performing truss setting operations. The employer did not ensure that the adequate bracing was provided for the metal plate connected wood trusses and walls of the newly constructed 80 foot long by 60 foot wide barn, while 60 foot long metal plate connected wood trusses were being installed atop 17 foot tall wooden framed walls.
