29 CFR 1910.178(o)(2):Load(s) that were not within the rated capacity of the industrial truck were handled: Shop: On, or about, October 2, 2024, crated parts were lifted using lifting slings that were hung over the load engaging means (forks) of forklifts. Pins were inserted at the end of the forks to prevent sling(s) from slipping off the end. Forklift trucks are designed to handle homogenous loads and the pin stop holes were located near the end of the forks beyond the last load center rating listed on the capacity plate. Abatement Note: The use of a boom attachment that has been approved by the manufacturer and is within the capacity of the forklift would be an acceptable abatement method.
