On or about January 8, the employer did not ensure that employees on Kettle B engaged in the gum pulling process were protected from the energization of the the kettle and were exposed to struck-by hazards from the mixing blades. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

Distances shall be measured from the live parts, if they are exposed, or from the enclosure front or opening, if they are enclosed. a) On or about January 8, 2025 the employer did not ensure that the electric panel adjacent to the mixing platform in the Mentos Processing area had a minimum working space thereby exposing employees to electrical hazards. b) On or about January 8, 2025 the employer did not ensure that the electric panel on the north wall in the Mentos processing area had a minimum working space thereby exposing employees to electrical hazards. c) On or about January 8, 2025 the employer did not ensure that the electrical panel adjacent to the racking unit in the Specialty Processing area was accessible thereby exposing employees to electrical hazards. d) On or about January 8, 2025 the employer did not ensure that the electrical panel adjacent to the Sterlco Heating unit had a minimum working space thereby exposing employees to electrical hazards.
