29 CFR 1915.157(a): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate hand protection and other protective clothing where there is exposure to hazards such as skin absorption of harmful substances, severe cuts or lacerations, severe abrasions, punctures, chemical burns, thermal burns, harmful temperature extremes, and sharp objects. A) Personal boat Moored in Lake Union - On or about February 13, 2025, and at times prior thereto, an employee performing deck cleaning activities was exposed to chemical burns. The employee was using highly reactive chemicals to clean the boat's wooden deck without using proper personal protective equipment, exposing the employee to 2nd degree burns.

Within twenty-four (24) hours after the in-patient hospitalization of one or more employees or an employee's amputation or an employee's loss of an eye, as a result of a work-related incident, you must report the in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye to OSHA. A) On or about March 15, 2024, Splash N' Detail Inc. failed to report a hospitalization within 24 hours.
