29 CFR  1903.19(c)(1):The employer did not certify to OSHA, within 10 calendar days after the abatement date, that the cited violation had been abated:  On or about May 22, 2025, YK Engle Rd LLC DBA Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport, the employer failed to provide documentation demonstrating the abatement methods and completion for citations issued on April 22, 2025 for failing to have a workplace hazard assessment, personal protective equipment training for hand and eye protection, a written hazard communication program, and training for employees who work with the hazardous chemicals.

OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to a hypothermia/death hazard.   On or about March 7, 2025, YK Engle Rd LLC dba Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport, located at 7230 Engle Road, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130, the walk-in cooler had a broken emergency release handle, and did not have any way to open the door from the inside of the walk-in if it was closed.  Employees were trapped in the walk-in cooler on several occasions until someone was able to come open the door.
