29 CFR  1926.1101(d)(5): As supervisor of the entire project, the general contractor did not ascertain whether the asbestos contractor was in compliance with the asbestos standard, and did not require such contractor to come into compliance with this standard:  At a worksite located at 1180 W 19th Street, Higginsville, MO 64037:  Employees were exposed to toxic or hazardous substances when employees were performing asbestos abatement activities for Class II asbestos-containing materials. The subcontractor was not in compliance with the asbestos standard which included, but was not limited to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), protective clothing, respiratory protection, decontamination procedures, and signage.  This occurred on February 17, 2025 and April 5-6, 2025, The employer failed to ascertain whether the asbestos contractor was in compliance with this standard, and did not require such contractor to come into compliance with this standard when necessary.
