29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  Employees performing fabricating activities were exposed to struck by and amputation hazards in the following instances:  1. In the production area, employees engaged in operating the Hyd-Mech horizontal band saw  were exposed to amputation hazards in that the unused portion of the saw blade was not guarded.   2. In the production area, employees engaged in operating the Central Machinery drill press were exposed to struck by hazards in that the rotating drill chuck was not guarded  3. In the production area, employees engaged in operating the Cleereman sliding head drill press were exposed to struck by hazards in that the rotating drill chuck was not guarded.
