OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were not protected from the hazard of high heat while performing job duties.  (a) LOC Line: On or about, and at times prior to, June 25, 2025, employees were exposed to the hazard of high heat from several sources including: High temperature ovens used to cure coated products,  fluidized sand beds, and high temperature washers for the removal of corrosion from parts. Employees were observed to be exposed to WBGT [Wet Bulb Globe Temperature] (inside) of 92.1 degrees F with a heat index of 123.4 degrees F, while engaged with moderate exertion activities including the manual operation of powder coating guns.  Heat indexes were documented in the community at 100 degrees F during this time period and a heat advisory was in place for the geographical region.  (b) Chain on Edge  (Pen) Line: On or about, and at times prior to, June 25, 2025, employees were exposed to the hazard of high heat from several sources including: High temperature ovens used to cure coated products,  fluidized sand beds, and high temperature washers for the removal of corrosion from parts. Employees were observed to be exposed to WBGT [Wet Bulb Globe Temperature] (inside) of  91.0 degrees F with a heat index of 124.0 degrees F while engaged with light exertion activities including  the manual loading and unloading of parts onto conveyors. Heat indexes were documented in the community at 100 degrees F during this time period and a heat advisory was in place for the geographical region.
