29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: 85 Fern Street, Hartford, CT 06105 (Backside): On October 21, 2025, Employer exposed Employee's who were using a 18-foot aluminum extendable portable ladder exclusively to access a 3-story residential home roof, 8-12 pitch, 20-feet above ground, to potential fall & struck-by hazards because the ladder had been unsafely positioned & did not extend 3-feet above the upper landing surface.
