29 CFR  1910.132(d)(2):The employer did not verify that the required workplace hazard assessment has been performed through a written certification that identifies the workplace evaluated, the person certifying that the evaluation has been performed, the date(s) of the hazard assessment, and, which identifies the document as a certification of hazard assessment:  At the detail building, detailing technicians are exposed to struck-by and chemical hazards in that the employer does has not conducted a hazard assessment and provided the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The employer provided nitrile gloves for detailing employees. Employees  uses air hose tools during detailing activities and particles have struck their eyes. Also, employees utilize chemicals such as but not limited to: Orange Crush Degreaser, HD Wheel Acid, which are corrosives; After Fire Odor Control, Super Spot Cleaner, IPA 99 and brake cleaner, which causes serious eye and skin irritation. According to the Safety Data Sheets, safety glasses/face protection is part of the PPE listed in the exposure control section.

29 CFR  1910.133(a)(1):The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation:  At the detail building, detailing technicians are exposed to struck-by, irritation and corrosive hazards and the employer does not provide the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: (Construction Reference: 1926.59)  At the detail building, detailing technicians are exposed to chemical hazards in that a written hazard communication program had not been developed, implemented and maintained at the job site. Employees utilize chemicals such as but not limited to: Orange Crush Degreaser, HD Wheel Acid, After Fire Odor Control, Super Spot Cleaner, IPA 99 and brake cleaner. According to the safety data sheets some of these are corrosive,  while others can cause eye and skin irritation and are flammable.

29 CFR  1910.1200(g)(8):   The employer did not maintain in the workplace copies of the required safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical, and did not ensure that they were readily accessible during each work  shift to employees when they were in their work area(s)   At the detail building, detailing technicians are exposed to chemical hazards in that Safety Data Sheets were not available and readily accessible at the detail shop.  Employees utilize chemicals such as but not limited to: Orange Crush Degreaser, HD Wheel Acid, After Fire Odor Control, Super Spot Cleaner, IPA 99 and brake cleaner. According to the safety data sheets some of these are corrosive,  while others can cause eye and skin irritation and are flammable.
