29 CFR  1926.501(b)(11):"Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  On or about January 7, 2026 two employees were exposed to fall hazards while installing metal roof panels on a development amenities center with a steep pitch roof  at heights greater than six feet above lower levels without fall protection.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1):Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access:  On or about January 7, 2026 employees installing metal roofing panels were exposed to falls by using a extension ladder  with side rails that did not extend at least 3 feet to access the roof landing approximately 12 feet above lower ground level.
