29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): a) On or about February 24, 2026, at or about 1633 AL-14 on a jobsite in Elmore, AL, employees were installing sewerline piping in a trench that was over 5 feet in depth without being protected from cave-ins. Jordan Excavating Company, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1809434, Citation 1 , Item 9, and was affirmed as a final order on August 25, 2025, with respect to a workplace located at a jobsite at approximately 847 Mill Rd in Madison, AL.
