29 CFR 1926.501(b)(4)(i): Each employee on walking/working surfaces shall be protected from falling through holes (including skylights) more than 6 feet (1.8 m) above lower levels, by personal fall arrest systems, covers, or guardrail systems erected around such holes. On or about April 16, 2026, employees performing residential roofing operations were not protected from a falling through a Skylight, exposing employees to falls of approximately 8 feet. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. Exception: When the employer can demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems, the employer shall develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502. On or about April 16, 2026, employees performing residential roofing operations were not protected from a fall, exposing employees to falls of 8-19 feet. Carlos Corral dba Carlos Corral was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1821719, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on September 2, 2025, with respect to a workplace located at 15147 Grandview Dr. Orland Park, IL 60467. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
