Employees were unloading a dehumidifier (3 feet x 18 inches x 7 feet) from the bed of a pickup truck. They used a winch and an all-terrain fork truck to move the equipment from the back of the truck bed to the front for unloading. The equipment struck an obstruction in the truck bed and fell forward partially off the back of the truck bed's tailgate. The injured employee's ankle was caught between the equipment and the tailgate, causing the employee to fall forward and their pelvis/abdomen struck the top of the tailgate. Their lower left leg was pinned beneath the equipment and the tailgate. The employee sustained abdominal trauma, an ankle strain, and a fractured pelvis.
