Final narrative
An employee grabbed the outside, top edge of the skiff's bulwark when stepping off of the pier and onto the skiff. A wave hit the side of the skiff, causing the employee to lose his balance. His finger got caught between the pier and bulwark, amputating his ring fingertip.
