An employee was cutting a steel plate when a scrap piece fell and was lodged on the cutting table. The employee attempted to remove the scrap plate with an overhead crane when the two hooks came loose and struck him in the chest and face. He sustained three fractured ribs, a collapsed right lung, and a nose laceration.
