An employee was felling a cedar tree with a chain saw. A branch of the cedar tree hit an 8-inch maple tree. When the tension was released, the maple tree whipped back, knocking the employee to the ground. The employee was hospitalized with a broken ankle, ribs, and shoulder, as well as a back injury. The employee was wearing PPE at the time of the incident.
