An employee was cleaning a blender with the air-actuated discharge valve open for cleaning inside the blender. The employee's right hand was inside the opening with a rag. The switch that opened and closed the valve was bumped, and the valve gate closed on her right hand. The injury was just above the knuckles. She was hospitalized for surgery.
