An employee and a coworker were working on a reverse osmosis system, removing membranes from inside a metal pipe that was removed from the processing equipment. The coworker was pushing the membranes while the employee was attempting to catch them as they exited from the opposite end of the pipe. The employee's finger was then pinched and a portion was amputated between the outside surface of the membrane and the inside of a metal tube.
