An employee was climbing a ladder to contact a contractor who was on the roof when he lost his footing and fell approximately 8 feet to the ground. He suffered an open fracture to his lower right arm and right wrist, temporary partial paralysis of both lower limbs, and L1 and L3 vertebrae fractures. He required surgery and hospitalization.
