Two employees were working in a man lift basket about 12 to 13 feet off the ground. They were using an overhead hoist to reposition a piece of equipment they were working on in the vertical boring mill. As the overhead hoist was being lowered, the limit switch plate of the hoist came in contact with an employee's left hand, which was resting on the man lift railing. The injured employee sustained the amputation of the left pinky fingertip.
