Final narrative
An employee was standing on about the fifth rung of an 8-foot extension ladder while operating a pneumatic paint spray gun to paint the exterior of a residential, single-family home. The ladder shifted as the ladder support (leg) sank into the sandy ground surface, and the employee dismounted from the ladder and landed on the ground, striking his right hip. He suffered a nerve injury and was hospitalized.
